re: BANSKO SNPW AND DRINK

Yeah it's absolutely dead - I've not had to queue for a lift or Gondola once this week. In the morning the pistes are empty, but for the odd one or two people. There's a slalom competition on at the moment that is based on the 5 blue. However, it doesn't impact anyone really, as all other runs are open and groomed (not counting the ski road, of course). Up the top is amazing, and usually above the clouds. Lower runs have been cloudy/foggy but this has helped preserve the recent big dump ...

Up the top is amazing, and usually above the clouds. Lower runs have been cloudy/foggy but this has helped preserve the recent big dump perfectly. Off-piste is lovely too. It's been one of the best weeks of the season, I'd say.

Could get a little busier at the end of next week as it's the Bulgarian Orthadox Easter, but still, get out here if you can - you won't regret it!

re: BANSKO SNPW AND DRINK

Flying out on Sunday - should be in Bansko about 5pm on Sunday - staying for 12 days - will the lifts still be open in 2 weeks?

Also where is the Sir Galahad? Have been to Bansko last year........

Also I need lots of 1 on 1 lessons - had a bulgarian girl called Vaska last year and she charged me about £8/hr individual - anyone know of other good instructors if she is not available?

re: BANSKO SNPW AND DRINK

Going by the current conditions, I'd say the lifts will be open for at least another 2 weeks. Can't help you with your other points though, sorry.

re: BANSKO SNPW AND DRINK

Got back yesterday morning from Bansko. Had a fabulous week skiing. Whilst we were there we had a two foot dump of snow which refreshed all the runs but wasn't enough to ski down to the bottom. Two of our friends did try and had to walk the last few hundred yards! The skiing was amazing towards the end of our week as the sun was shining and visibility was better than the start of our hols. Check out our video footage on uTube and you will see my husband having the biggest wipe out in the fun ...

Two of our friends did try and had to walk the last few hundred yards! The skiing was amazing towards the end of our week as the sun was shining and visibility was better than the start of our hols. Check out our video footage on uTube and you will see my husband having the biggest wipe out in the fun park when he almost did a 360 degrees back flip going too fast into a jump! Fortunately he is in one piece.

The Happy End bar opposite the gondola station was a welcome sight at the end of the skiing day, as was the Friendly Bar for really nice food and drinks. We tried out the pizza place under the Kempsinski which served lovely food too.

Take LEV as Euro's wasn't very popular.

The Sir Gallahad is not that far from the Sky Sports bar if you know where that is? Come out the Sky Sports bar, crossing the road on your left. Go down this road a few hundred yards and turn right. You will see the bar on your left.

For lessons, you can save money by approaching the instructors who tout for business as you come out of the gondola at the top where the nursery slopes are. You'll pay 1/2 price compared to booking lessons at the ski school at the bottom of the gondola. A good tip is to leave your skis and boots each day in the luggage shop in the gondola station at the bottom. It's dirt cheap and you won't have to carry them anywhere and you can change back into normal shoes.

Have a fab time.
