BORO UPDATE - 21ST FEB

Morning Everyone!
Sorry I've not posted for a couple of days, but was in Boro most of the weekend as we have had friends here for the week...
The weekend has been pretty poor in terms of snow conditions - was great until about Thursday and then the snow deteriorated due to high temps and rain - in Samokov yesterday it was 17degrees...!!
The good news however is that it is now snowing pretty heavily in the resort, which is desperately needed! There are still a few negatives ...

Gondola - is only open half-way - the winds are too strong. At the top it is snowing heavily, but blizzard-like conditions.
Yastrebets 1, 2 and 3 open - GOOD CONDITIONS on all 3 slopes
Fon Fon - / Markudjik etc all closed as you cannot get up there...
Rila, iglika and yanakiev (Rotata) drags open - VERY ICY
Martinovi 1, 2 and 3 are open- (4 closed) VERY ICY
Sitnyakovo Express is closed - which means all the runs up there aren't working. The Yastrebets 4 man chair lift broke down and it was going to take 10 days to get the part, so they have taken the part from the Sitnyakovo, as there there is much better snow on the yastrebets slopes and more skiing for people.
Once again, the reports aren't looking great, especially after a great week of skiing last week, but if it keeps snowing, then things will change pretty quickly.

Thanks for the update kas,lets hope they get the Sitnyakovo lift sorted soon, some nice runs up there.

Hi ya,Will be about on the 4th and can arrange to meet up. In terms of the 'beer', what bar do you mean?? We tend to drink / eat in 4 or 5 places in Boro that are our favourite, but we don't own one or anything.

I'll be arriving on the 4th too. Only doing a long weekend this year. Bringing a friend, maybe 2 with me. They're 1st time to Boro, they usually do France, praying for more snow.We go back on Mon 8th, would love to put a face to the name!

Hi Kas4 of us came in the first week of Jan this year and we managed to ski most days but the conditions were far from great. I came two years ago and it was fantastic, is the weather usually this poor or is it a bad year? Just we are planning skiing again for Feb next year and I'm wondering if we should go somewhere a bit more snow sure.
We did all have a great time as the drink was pretty cheap
