Morning All,
Sorry for the lack of updates over the last couple of days - been busy recovering from a very busy xmas!!!
Today there are a few clouds in the sky but it is predominantly beautiful blue skies at the moment and very cold.
Whilst there is still good skiing to be had, we do need some more snow, but will need Mark IOW to come online and report on whether that is going to happen or not!
In terms of the conditions and what's open....
Rila Side - everything except the Rila Black is open. Conditions are good where the snow cannons are but in other places it is a bit icy at the moment, although this should improve as the day goes on. The Sitnyakovo Express (George;s run) is skiable and open but rocky and patchy in places especially towards the end.
Up top, Yastrebets 2 is open and in very good conditions but 1 and 3 are closed, Fon Fon is also open and in okish conditions.
Over on the Markudjik side, 2 (a and b) and 3 are closed, but Marky 1 and the 'loop' - down to Marky 2 4-man chair are open as is the Suhar (nursery slope). Again, ok conditions, but more snow is needed as places are getting patchy which is not helped by the ice. Mussala pathway is open but the stream across the top of it is now visible (so beware!!) and also from about half-way down it is very rocky in places so if you are coming out and have your own ski's you may want to use some hire ones...
The resort was really quiet over xmas, but it would seem a lot more people have chosen to come out mid-week / for New Year as it's definitely getting busier.
Manc Tom - sorry to say but you need to start our naked snow dancing again....

re: BORO UPDATE - 2TH DEC
No Problem Kas.
Will start ASAP, could do with loosing a few pounds due to the Christmas excess!! alltough the extra pound do make it easier once the gyroscopic effect kicks in!!
Anybody heard from S.P.?? I bet his ambulance is still full of revelers and vomit !!!
Hi Kas/everyone. Coming out in Feb again for third year running. Can't wait. Still plenty of time yet for the snow to come and we've been ok to ski everyday before, despite far from perfect snow conditions. Especially last year.
How does the start of the season this year weather-wise compare to recent years? And what do the locals think this season will bring?
Hopefully not the record high temperatures seen in the UK!
Compared to last season it is 1000 times better....!! As in last season, only Yastrebets was open and beginners were really struggling to do anything. If you read Mark IOW weather update, you can see that things are hopefully getting better towards the end of the week and there may be some snow!
Thanks Kas. Yeah; not lots open early Feb last year but we ski'd. Albeit sometimes on ice! Hope the second half of Jan is good too as per Marks forecast for the first half! So the snow stays for first week of Feb.
Hopefully will make the forum meet again. Last years was in Black Tiger I think...
Snowdancing starts full time next week ready for the 28th.This is also mixed in with drinking practice. Went with my daughter and sons to a Scunthorpe version of a night club last night. I think kids these days spill more than they drink. Sacrilidge.

Unless it's an over 30's I would have to say 35 tops. Seeing some of your mates kids on the dance floor can be quite embarrassing. So my bet is you started fatherhood young ...
