Sorry I didn't update you yesterday - other half had a day off, so we went out for lunch and got home at 10.30....so...feeling a little jaded, but getting ready to do it all again in Titanic for the cup final!!
It snowed heavily yesterday for circa 3 or 4 hours - and for once
it was the proper 'big snowflakes' rather than the tiny stuff!! About 5cm in total. It's sunny, but cold today and the local news said there would be more snow mid week.
The resort is very busy ...
Hi Everyone,
Sorry I didn't update you yesterday - other half had a day off, so we went out for lunch and got home at 10.30....so...feeling a little jaded, but getting ready to do it all again in Titanic for the cup final!!
It snowed heavily yesterday for circa 3 or 4 hours - and for once
it was the proper 'big snowflakes' rather than the tiny stuff!! About 5cm in total. It's sunny, but cold today and the local news said there would be more snow mid week.
The resort is very busy due to it being a weekend and all the Sofians are here, but it should quieten down tomorrow.
So, in terms of runs, there are still a few closed:
Sitnyakovo Express - (BLUE) is closed as too many rocks / bare patches, Sitnyakovo 2 and 3 are also closed. Both blacks on the Rila side, Mussala Pathway and Marky 3. Still not sure about Marky 3 as there seems to be enough snow up there... Lots of people are traversing across from Marky 2b and skiing it anyway.
Also, lots of people skiing the Mussala pathway - just take care.
In terms of conditions on the open slopes:
Rila, Rotata and Iglika drags - GOOD CONDITIONS
Martinovi 1, 2 and 3 (Rila runs) GOOD CONDITIONS
Markudjik 1, 2aand 2b are open as is the nursery slope at the top of the gondola - CONDITIONS ARE EXCELLENT
Yastrebets - all 3 slopes are open as is the fon fon and CONDITIONS ARE EXCELLENT
Have to say i am starting to get worried, bringing two friends out on Thursday for 3 days skiing. Both experienced skiers (just a bit rusty!). They've only skied in europe, but i've talked them into coming to Boro cos i love it. Now i'm worried to death there wont be enough slopes open!
I think you'll be fine! There is more snow predicted this week, but even if it doesn't come, conditions are far better than xmas / new year and people still managed (just!) to ski then.
The Marky / Yasrebets slopes are in great condition and hopefully will stay that way!
Will be out on Friday night in Boro - will let you know where!
Quick update - Rila slopes are getting a bit slushy as it is quite hot - people sitting outside with T-shirts on....but on the Gondola side, it is still excellent up top.
