Sorry for the lack of posts - this last week has been crazy and tbh there has not been much news to report...
The snow last week combined with low temps (allowing cannons to be on) has helped but only to improve conditions on slopes that are already open and not to enable anything else to open up...
The Rila runs are skiing ok and night skiing is also very good. Yastrebets 3 is also still in very good condition however with Popangelov now closed this is making skiing very limited - ...

The Rila runs are skiing ok and night skiing is also very good. Yastrebets 3 is also still in very good condition however with Popangelov now closed this is making skiing very limited - luckily the resort is not that busy this week although there are lots of Romanians here due to holidays. Not sure how we will cope with half-term if nothing else opens.
I also understand that everyone is panicking and very worried - you will be able to ski but the queues (over half-term) and the boredom factor due to minimal open slopes is not great for anyone. Whilst this affects us and everyone else with business here, if you can cancel you may want to go ahead and do so; this is not ideal at all for Borovets as a resort however it may be best for your personal circumstances.
I would always go and just make the best of it. Having already had a week in Jan with limited skiing it wont bother me one bit. If its still the same (which it wont be as I have done a special order for the 22nd) I will try something new to keep myself entertained.............snowboarding..........so if you cant get what you need out of skiing or boarding why not try switching for the fun of learning.
No way of us cancelling either!! 3 of our group of 7 are trying snowboarding for the first time. We've had a couple of taster sessions (one with Bobby last year) and a lesson at the Hemel Snowdome a couple of weeks ago.
A holiday is what you make it and we'll make sure we have a good one regardless of the snow conditions
Well despite it looking like the worst conditions ever (in 14 visits) for me, we won't be cancelling either. In fact due to a cancelation, we have been able to move to the apartment that we wanted to book in the first place. At least Popangelov should have re-opened by the time I get there and it may even snow a little even though not yet forecast however I do think that next year I might book Austria. That's how I feel right now.................
I admire your honesty as whilst the situation is not great for the punter the conditions this year will have a serous knock on effect for businesses like yours in the resort in the years to follow.
I have done Boro five times now and enjoyed your hospitality and that of your family whilst in your bar or whilst at Chalet Iskar.

Nostalgia has bought us back over the past few years. However im not sure we will be back. It was good whilst it lasted. I see other peoples point of view Glass half full rather than empty but I come ski.
I hope to see you all again and enjoy some Bulgarian snow but I wont hold my breath.
Viva La France!
PS Nassfeld in three weeks. 1.3 meters of snow in one night I will be thinking of you all.
