Thinking of going to Borovets with wife daughter 16 and son 14 but have read some less than complementary revies on trip advisor about late night noise and seedy establishments.
Is it really in your face or can you sleep at night
best wishes

I saw that no-one had posted, so thought I'd give you my thoughts.
In my experience (5 times to Boro), no real problems , the people are very friendly and will see that you are OK.
There are good and bad everywhere, In my view most people like to complain rather than speak good (hence IMHO, the bad reviews - as is the case anywhere)
I like most people on this site, have had amazing times here and would not hesitate to return. My 1st time 2008, was with my wife and kids ...

Value for money it can't be beaten - I would recommend to all. Just wish I could get there myself this year.

Well i've been 10 times out of the past 11 years and have taken my family on most of those trips. My Daughter will be 20 this year, steps sons 16 and son 6, if there was a problem I certainly wouldn't be taking them to Borovets. It was worse a few years ago, it has improved greatly and in my opinion it is a great family destination. I guess we all have our own opinions on this kind of thing but as the place is packed with kids during half term week then I suppose many other parents think ...

I consider Borovets a great family destination. When we were there last year we (as adults) hardly noticed anything as even the most explicit sign (neon red "Sex Show") was right on the edge of the village and the kids (5,8,10 at the time) never clocked a thing.
We were in the Alpin chalets which is very close to the centre and next to the slopes - no noise at all. To be fair, some of the rooms at the front of the Rila *MAY* hear more, especially if the resort is very busy, but we never ...

What we did find is that pretty much all of the bars/restaurents were family friendly and good fun for all ages.
We are going again this March and have no worries whatsoever.
