Bulgaria Ski discussion board

As a first timer in Bansko I didn't know what to expect. Arrived in Sofia early Monday morning and found the driver waiting for us to take us to Bansko. Arrived after 2.5 hours. Checked in Hotel Aneli which is situated in the old part of Bansko. Very basic but good value for money. Breakfast ok and bathroom was fine. We only payed EUR112/person for 7 nights with free transport to the gondola and back. The food in the resort was very good. We ate in a different Mehana every night. Never complained. The only problem was to try and order some food without cheese. By the way, I am vegetarian and my wife is vegan.
The Skiing Equipment. We booked the pass and equipment from BulgariaSki.com. This was our fourth time we did this but the first in Bansko. In pamps we never had any problems but this time we did. No one was able to speak in english. But somehow we managed to get the equipment. After a day skiing we were told that we have to take the boots back with us to the hotel. Something we never did before. So we couldn't walk back and stop for a drink after skiing. After the second day skiing my friend had his slippers stolen and that was another problem. The Bulgaria Ski representative was not helpful at all during these situations.
The Skiing. Well what can I say? Fantastic. We were skiing from 9.00am till about 1.00pm in perfect snow conditions. After that it was a bit slushy. We still managed to ski down the ski road every day.
All in all it was a fantastic skiing holiday. Next time I will book a hotel closer to the Gondola because thats where all the action is. I will never use BulgariaSki again in Bansko. The Pamps reps (Maria and galina) were always very very good and much better than those in Bansko.
