Hi guys,
just got back today, we departed from luton on the 19th dec with wizzair and was pleasantly supprised very good value for money would deffinately fly with them again.
Stayed with the inlaws for a couple of days and then head off to bansko to see what all the fuss was about, it took us 3.5 hrs to get there from assenofgrad which is 15 mins from plovdiv airport. We found Bansko ok but just ok there was no atmosphere in the town or in the mountain restaurants it didn't have the feel ...

We found Bansko ok but just ok there was no atmosphere in the town or in the mountain restaurants it didn't have the feel to it as Pamporovo does, the pistes are bigger and better from what i seen didn't get to board much cause of lack of snow (bloody weather), we managed to get up to the two top drag lifts once and have to admit the view was pretty impressive just a shame we had to to catch lifts back down, so thats it for Bansko back to the inlaws for christmas, and then up to Pamps.
It snowed the day we got there but nowhere near enough we boarded for two half days and gave up far to dangerous with all the rocks, was there two years ago when they had great snow about 1.5m so i'd rather keep those memories than break a leg

So about the hotel and prices, we stayed in hotel Belmont which was very nice food was fine the same as most of the other hotels, the problem with this hotel is that it's about 3km's from the centre which cost us between 15 and 19 levs which im sorry to say is a rip off, it only cost us 50 lev to travel 70km's to the hotel with a taxi that works in the Plovdiv area. A bottle of becks in the hotel was 6.5levs for 330ml if you go out of the resort you can pay as little as 80 stotinkes for a 500ml bottle, big difference, on the slopes i paid an average of 5levs a beer and 5 levs in the white heart didn't have time to go to daks or bj's so not sure of the prices there.
I really enjoyed Pamps its got a good vibe about the place and is still cheap compared to other ski resorts.
