Hi ,just back from a week in Bansko.
First things first,the conditions;this was our 4th year here and this is the best the runs have been.Having said that we normally come here the first week of March so not a like for like comparison.Run 12 finally opened on Friday after the snow fall earlier in the week.Also got to try the Tomba on Friday when it was opened to get the surface scraped up!My only gripe with the piste
maintenance was leaving the snow cannons on all night on the ski road and ...

maintenance was leaving the snow cannons on all night on the ski road and then not pisteing it till the following night,this left large mounds of powder snow across the run which was very difficult for the begginers
who use this run to practise on.
The prices;we found prices in the mehanas and shops to be very similar to those of last year(in Levs) I cannot comment on the tourist bars as we avoided these.
We were B&B and our spend in town was £210 for two ,which I would say is still very good value.
Our hotel;the Kempinski Grand Arena is somwhere I recommend you try if you can.Beats,by a long way, a few well known British 5* hotels we have stayed in,at a fraction of the cost.
Our tour operator,Balkan Holidays did what we paid them for.Still don't know why they cannot give out lift passes on the transfer as is done by other operators.
Will we be back? After 4 years think its time for a change,
but if the ski area is ever added to or we can afford 2 ski holidays a year you never know.

who use this run to practise on.
