Back from Bansko

Well I'm glad it's snowed since Monday morning, we left then. The skiing was good but needed some more snow so the rest of you will get some good skiing.

The slopes where alot harder than we expected and don't think it is ideal for beginners. But we still loved it.

Unfortunately we were living in an apartment that is on a building site, was very cold, muddy and dark, the lifts didn't work so had to walk four flight of stairs to get to the apartment. The road that lead on to the main road was muddy and both with no street lights, oh what joy it was walking at night. The builders worked from 8am to as late as 11pm !
Basically after 4 nights of it we had enough, we tried hotels but everywhere was booked, even tried getting flights back. Luckily we found an apartment just opposite the Gondola behind Happy End. And for the last four days/nights of our trip, we had the best time we could and it was good.

Everynight we ate out and all the restaurants served very nice food, it was even hot to my surprise considering the amount of people saying food was just warm. Try the local dishes dishes, very tasty. The Bulgarians we met where all kind and helpful.
We only queued one day for 40 minutes for the Gondola and that was a Sunday.
So overall I would say it is not a bad place.
I wouldn't go again just yet though as it looks like it's being too over developed for the amount of slopes and skiing that can be done. I'd give it another 5 years at least.
But at the same time my only change would be is never go to apartments, we are sticking to Hotels and nothing less than 4*. There's one thing you defo need after a hards days skiing and that is a nice place to stay !
