Back from Bansko

Had another great week in Bansko.
More people about than last year but if you are up early there is some very good skiing to be had.The new runs at Chalin Valog were great and very quite.

Before going had read a lot about price hikes, all I can say if you eat and drink local stuff its still cheap as chips,we spent just over £200 between two eating out every night
with wine, even had some drinks in our hotel(grand arena)
and a room service snack. All in all great value in my book.

re: Back from Bansko

Cannot wiat to go in April - will be my fourth visit to Bansko.

Am really looking forward to my favourite dish "Seche" and "Peasants livers" (chicken livers) and also "Chicked Hearts".

I dont eat in the British type food places as I want to enjoy the local food. When we have a meal we always share (like in an Indian) and so far we have enjoyed all the meals for sure some more than others but it is very good value for money.

Beers - I like the local Pirinski Zagorka Gold is good and Kiminitza is a ber you can sip all day long without getting a hangover.

We all have had bad holiday experiances - Mine was in Cyprus Limmasol I'm never going back, Ive had rubbish meals too on holiday not many mind and if it is rubbish I refuse to pay for the food (clearly having not eaten it) I'll just pay for the drinks & not go back there again.

I guess maybe I want Bansko to be a good holiday experiance (odd not to want to have a good experiance) and I'll be going there again in the summer I find it very relaxing and totally different from the Hussle & Bussle of the beach resorts - Last year in Aug we only spoke to two other couples who were English noone else could really speak English. To us we couldnt care less we had a great time, we are educated enough to get accross to someone else & they to you what you want/where your trying to get to.

Summer hols usually cost the two of us a good £800 each all in, this year we had a great time (like most other holidays) and we didnt even get close to half that much for the two of us for 2 weeks eating out EVERY night and drinking a lot every night and lots of tours. Thats why I've bought there as IF we have a family its a holiday resort I can afford to go to and as I own the property we can go as often as we like.
Ive bought on the Pirin Golf so there are many big outdoor heated pools which will be used a lot in the summer, tennis courts, driving range, 36 holes (only 18 for now) bars cafe's all there and of course will be able to walk into town too. FYI I was going to buy a BMW 535d however instead Ive bought here and Im not intending on selling it I'll be using it for a very long time.
Might even decide not to try to let it out so it will be in mint condition just for us.

If you dont like something hell I'd say probably dont do it again (as in this industry there are so many places to try instead) and I'd certainly also inform others of what went wrong/your issues. I for one being an owner clearly dont like seeing bad reviews but its important to receive the criticism/constructive criticism.

Finally a Beer in the French Alps this year (Mrs bother went there in Jan) cost him between £6-8 in the bars the hotel was much more - so given that if you think Bansko beers are pricy it depends on what you are comparing it to and not many beat in on £/beer ratio Booze
