Arrived home last week after first holiday skiing - didn't manage the skiing bit but the holiday was great. Kids managed red runs after six days and also did snowboarding - their instructor was awful but luckily we had friends who ski and they helped out. They had one private lesson which was brilliant. Be warned the sun was very strong on the last day and we are now blister burned on the face so use plenty of cream.

Stayed at the Guinness Apts - very nice although hot so turn down the radiators when you arrive.
Best food was in the Mehana at Hotel Perun - opposite the hotel is a round house and you go downstairs - good value but traditional food - no pizza if you have kids. Also a very good restaurant half way down Perin Street on right hand side (has a board outside with naff glossy pictures) and advertises steak and grills - excellent food and the musician playing there at night was superb.
All in all a good time had by all - might try snowboarding next time - apparently the boots are softer!!
I know the steak house you are talking about, with the two guys; one singing and the other on keyboard. We have been in there 2 years running, the food is great and what a singer that guy is, we spoke to him and he speaks little to no english but sings it like he'd lived here all his life!
