What a week! Even better than last year! Snow conditions were great all week as it snowed up til Wednesday. Stayed in the Samokov. Great hotel, breakfast ok, evening meal not so interesting!! Ate out most nights, cost about £30 for five of us, including plenty of drinks. We had an excellent instructor called Nick, he was better than Krassi last year, he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! The ski equipment was better this year. Looking to book up already for next year, even trying to persuade hubby to go again this season!!! I'll work on that one!! Missing it already. Hope all of you that are going out have a good a time as we did, well worth every penny!!
Good news Jane!
Maybe you can help with my question.
I'm off to Borovets on 24th jan.
My boyfriend is supposed to be boarding (complete beginner) and myself skiing (intermediate). We've both booked equip. / lesson packages.
Are we likely to be split up for most of the days as a result?
And is the terrain available to beginners / boarders adequate in your view (due to the chairlift closure)
i hope i feel exactly the same as you when i return from Bansko on the 13th March. what am i talking about, i haven't even got there yet!!! my boyfriend and i are so excited about going and are counting the days down already.
You will have different instructors. If the gondola is shut then it tends to be busy at the bottom of the slopes. The best beginner slopes are ot the top station of the gondola, we managed to get up there three days where it was excellent ski-ing. I hope more snow comes soon as it was getting a bit icy towards the end of the week although it wasn't as icy as the conditions last year. Its a pity the one man chair lift isn't working this year as there is a good run from the top which I ...

we did the same last year...I boarded and my gf & kids skied. We were split up all day, which kind of defeated the point of a family holiday. It was inevitable though as we are doing different things. This is why I only booked 3 days lessons so I could spend the other 3 with the family. This year I have only booked 3 half day lessons so I can spend more time with them.....and off playing by myself of course.
