Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Well arrived home about 11pm last night after a fantastic weeks skiing in Boro. We were in a party of 9 and had a great time there, this year was our second year there, and we plan to go out again next year at the same time.

Hotel - Samakov
We stayed in the Samakov hotel again this year, and it was as good as last year. Same uncomfortable beds and horrible sheets, but apart from that the room was fine. It is nicely kept and is always clean, and they always do the best hot chocolates! Like last year the food wasnt all that good. We ate toast in the morning and went out for dinner because we couldnt stand what was being served, some nights it was good, but mostly we went out to dinner. We loved the sports bar upstairs, its where all us kids spent most of our apres ski! Really friendly guy in there and he gave me his hot chocci recipe!!!!!

Conditions
The conditions were fantastic until the end of the week, i feel sorry for anyone who went out yesterday as there is hardly any snow about, mostly ice and slush everywhere. The conditions were great throughout the week, lovely to ski on but just a tad bit of ice appearing, but after the dump of snow on monday it was great skiing, the conditions were best up top with powder all week,

Runs
The runs were great as always, we skiied the musala pathway a couple of times and it was a great run, apart from the bottom part as it was quite icy and flat. We mainly stayed at the bottom of the mountian this year and it was fine up until the end of the week

Ski School
We used the Samakov Ski School like last year but afraid to say it wasnt as good as last year. Im 15 and another in out party was 18 and we had to go in to a kids group, but all the kids in our group were together which was good. Our instructor (Katia) was ok, she treated us a bit like begginers yet were were all at an intermediate level. Ski school was pretty much ruined when we did have a begginer join our group, so we had to stick to green runs which was unbearable!! So we stopped ski school half way through the week and did our own thing.

Eating Out
Well we mostly went to White Magic for eating out, which is a fantastic place with friendly people in it. The food was good, and we all enjoyed eating there. We also used Francos bar which made fantastic steaks, i would highly reccomend them! They were the only two we visted i think.

Well on the whole i had a fantastic week out there and cant wait to go again. We were thinking of getting lessons from Christo next year instead of using one of the ski schools, which will be great. And as i know my dad will be on here... THANKS FOR A GREAT WEEK
