Back from Borovets

Back from Borovets last night & we had a great time
We stayed at the Samakov, room ok, food awful but the staff were nice and the pool and the Bowling alley was nice to take the kids to.
I didnt ski but my wife had lessons and enjoyed herself & they had to be very patient with her.
My two children 2 & 5 stayed in the Ski Kindergarden at the Samakov and they didnt like it. It was way too small and the kids got very bored. We only left them for the morning though which was more than enough ...

We ate out most of the time and most places were nice and friendly and all welcomed the children. Loved the beer & the chocolate brandys.
I did think the resort was a bit tacky but the cheapness more than compensated for that.
Well done to Brittania for getting us home when most others were stuck after the runways were closed.

re: Back from Borovets

Pleased you enjoyed it Dave, yep you get what you pay for in certain respects, but you could have 2 holidays in Bulgaria skiing for the price of one in the Three Valleys or the Austrian Alps!
(I am!)

re: Back from Borovets

I wondered how you knew the food was awful if you ate out most of the time? I ate in the hotel everynight, and although it was not haute cuisine, it was perfectly acceptable.
