Back from Pamps

Another fantastic week in Pamps - conditions were perfect at the start of the week although kids holidays meant that some of the queues (3 man in particular) were horrible.
All runs were open apart from Smolyan lakes, the right fork on the Stoikite run and a couple of the short cut throughs. The half pipe wasn't pisted but they had cannons on during the week so assume it is planned to be opened soon.

Bright sun shine all week was fantastic but inevitably meant that towards the end of the week there were a few icy patches appearing and a bit soft in the afternoon in places but still plenty of snow for anyone out this week.
Looks like the link with Chepelare could well happen maybe as early as next year if they get the legal issues sorted which will result in a big increase in the number of available ski runs.

re:Back from Pamps

Hi Joff

Thanks for the post. Glad you had a good time. I'm heading out next Tuesday so hopefully the snow will hold out given the Spring like temps forecast over the next week or so. Out of interest do you know if the piste down to snow centre 1, the one nearest the resort, was open?

How was the atmos in the resort? Everyone feeling happy about snow cover etc?

Cheers

Josh

re:Back from Pamps

Hi Josh

There was still plenty of snow on majority of the runs so you should be ok.

Didn't go down the run down to Centre 1 but came up the one man lift and it was definitely pisted at the top so assume it was open all the way down.

Resort was buzzing compared to last year, loads of people in the bars and hotels + shops were all open, ski conditions were great + looks like Pamps has a great future especially f the new runs open up as planned.

Cheers for the update mate, Pamps has completely got its act together in the last few years and if the extension to Chep happens it'd will be superb. How's things at the village?

re:Back from Pamps

Hello mate, village was looking good - loads of people at the start of the week due to the holidays + bit quieter later on.

Best thing was the restaurant - got a good guy (Andrew) managing it and food was great (much better than the 2 very disappointing meals in Pamps + lots cheaper). Also had a great meal in Venus restaurant in Smolyan - well worth a visit!
