Just got back from a week away with the lads doing some serious powder skiing in the USA.
As would be expected, the skiing is awsome, the lifts the most up to date, the prices so expensive, the people no where near as friendly as Borovets, the charm of the village, well, rather like grand street central to be honest.(Nightlife we sampled a couple of evenings, and was quite in your face in a yankee sort of way!, we were there for the skiing though!))

Long flight, worth it for the snow and skiing available, worth the expence if your a good skier who can take advantage of whats on offer.
However if your a learner, you cant beat the likes of Borovets, whats the point of having a massive ski area available at quite a high lift pass price if you only ski 30% of it! (unless your rich of course!)
At least in resorts in Bulgaria the learners can sample skiing and see if its for them without spending so much money!
Cant wait till Three weeks time, going out to Borovets with the kids, their third time there, and they love it!
Plenty of board to read up on, see what ive missed!
Mr Whippy!
Aspen, awsome place, but busy in resort- so much space on slopes you can ski wherever you wish at times without having to look out for learner classes if you know what i mean!
Off piste best in world! (remember to take transponder unit though, high av danger last week!)
You been US before?
Yeah mate been there a few times.California though, worth the extra expense as so much to choose from once you're there.
But i love pamps aswell,got a charm i haven't found anywhere else
Yeah, and you can have two holidays for the price of one if you go to Bulgaria!
Seriously, will love taking the kids over to the States once they are good enough to take advantage of whats on offer, whats the point in breaking the bank if they are restricted to reds and blues all week!
The charm of Bulgaria has a lot to do with it!
very good to hear some very good powder skiers up to the standards with reports about both USA and BG.
One think to correct though.lift prices in BG-50 levs each day (25 euros )this is for 40ish km of runs.
Same prices per day you will get in french resorts with6-7 times more mileage. For USA agree -prices steep but a hell of a ski experience
