Balkan Holidays Baggage Limit

I'm all packed for Saturday and having weighed my ski's and boots they are just under 15kg. Does anyone know what the weight limit for ski carriage is and whether or not this includes my boot bag or if its just the actual skis??

i am in Bansko now,Balkan r very strict and it is only ski carriage. They will also check ur bags as u get on the coach 2 make sure it is under 20kg and ask for proof of carriage paid.

ok so will i have to pay extra for my bootbag? surely this should be covered under ski carriage? is the limit 20kg for skis or for your actual suitcase?

Are you not taking a suitcase? Stick you boots in your case and put things like underwear and socks in the boots. Very Happy

With Balkan we paid £17 to carry boots as wouldn't fit in case but we didn't have skis. I now have my own skis in a sportube and don't plan on paying twice for carriage of skis and boots. 20kg is suitcase but it is a valid question regarding paying the exta carriage as I don't like the idea of having to pay £34 to get boots and skis carried next yr!

Nobody weighed our cases or asked for proof of extra carriage when we boarded the coach to Bansko.

Good job i asked! as when i have travelled in the past with both ski bag and boot bag they have both been covered under "Ski Carriage"

Pulled directly from balkan website:

A luggage allowance per person (excluding infants) is:hold luggage
up to 15 - 20 kg (no frill restricted to 1 piece), hand luggage - 1 piece weighting up to 5 kg. Own skis/snowboards & boots, can be carried, at a charge of £17 (£29 for Borovets) per pair.

I would presume per pair meaning skis and boots come as a pair and argue that lol! Boarders can put their boots in the board bag but as skiiers we can't so that shouldn't be penalised!

I have just spoken to Balkan and the Ski Carriage Package does include both skis and boots in separate bags, and there is no weight limit, providing that there is only one ski bag and one boot bag per traveller
