First Investment Bank is in Glazne Street (next to the Strahitze Hotel). Another one down in the Square also.
Opens at 9am and is open til late - 8pm I think.
SCRUB THE ABOVE! Just found their website as was not sure of closure time - it says until 31 March it is open until 10pm! After that 1 April it is open until 5.30pm.
One down in the square is 9am to 5.30pm (closed for lunch from 1 until 2).
Hearing different rates banded around but nothing much in it. On-line rate I looked at yesterday was 2.05. Other have mentioned on posts about getting 2.07, 2.13 etc.
Assuming it does not drop any more I am just telling myself 2 Lev = £1 then it's easy to equate prices.
All I know is it is more expensive than previous years!!
Good rates Dave - would be helpful to have said where Bank was though
Mel - I could not think of an OBB bank but do recall Alpha and a United Bulgarian Bank (I gather now that United is known as OBB so that is what Dave is referring to!)
United (or OBB) is on Pirin Street - not sure if you kno the street names - Pirin Street is the main street down from the gondola which goes all the way down to the church, square and old town. You will find United Bulgaria Bank on your right ...

You will find United Bulgaria Bank on your right (as you head down). Carry on down and you get to the church tower and Bansko square. Turn left and Alpha Bank is on the left. Obviously the other bank FIB is nearer, then United (OBB) then Alpha - not gone into Alpha myself.
Anyone else been out in the past few days who may know of rates for the other banks?
I tend to just take a few Levs to cover myself early in the trip and then use my card at the ATMs so don't tend to walk down to the Banks. Also I have a Nationwide card so it do not get charges for withdrawing abroad.
