After previously visiting both Borovets and Pamporovo my ski group are thinking of trying Bansko in Feb because we'd like to try somewhere new without having to spend an arm and a leg on Alps prices - We like the Apres too

My question is, I know Bankso is a bigger resort than the others (well, a town rather than resort) but where is most of the nightlife located? Could you recommend some accommodation that isn't too far to walk to the nightlife but also possibly in walking distance of the Gondola? (If possible).
Any other general Bansko info much appreciated too. By the way, we're thinking of coming around 2nd Feb so is the snow also usually fine at this time of year (We've been early March previously)? Also how busy is Bansko at this time?
Bansko is a town, dating back nearly 2000 years.. the ski development mostly is sited towards the mountain at the top of town, leaving the style and atmosphere of the old town intact. Most of the tourist bars and restaurants are situated within the ski development, so you can choose from a massive number of apartments and hotel complexes... Maybe consider the 'Bansko Royal Towers' mid price and great situation, or 'Vihren Palace' across the river from the BRT.. i could go on as there are ...

I downloaded one of the Bansko maps with the bars / clubs etc on and most of the 'clubs' appeared to be in the old town...
Are these either not busy or just not as heavily occupied with tourists as you both appear to suggest staying nearer to the Gondola?
My group are mid 20s so probably prefer clubs to the pubs and don't have a problem mixing with the Bulgarians so my inclination was to stay perhaps equidistant between the old town and gondola.

But maybe there isn't as much action in the old town? What is the nightlife like around the Gondola, is there anything for the younger crowd or more family oriented?
The clubs mentioned are right at the bottom of town, tend not to get busy till after midnight, and will be full of Bulgarians, not a problem to most. The bars at the top of town will play live music, stay open late (03.00 +) and have a good atmosphere... The families tend to go in earlier so its not an issue.. Try Amigo's, Euphoria, the new Friendly, likely to have a name change due to this summers refurb, Lion bar.. then head down the town.. jobs a good un
Mcmoodle, dunno about Feb 2, ...

I've been on quite a few lads trips to Bansko and only been to 1 club and just the once. It was quiet but then it was early....
Always found the bars in the ski area have a good atmosphere plus they stay open later than I can normally manage after a day boarding But then, I'm not as young as I used to be
