Bankso ski area

Hi!

My mates are trying to get me to go to Bansko, heard great things about it so was well up for it until I checked the piste map as I was a bit worried that there wouldn't be enough to do for a week. From what I can see on the map there are not really too many runs.

I really don't mean this in a bad way, it's just I'm quite an advanced skier and worry that a week skiing there could get boring (cos I like to mainly ski rather than mainly drink on my skiing holidays!), from the map it ...
Hi!

My mates are trying to get me to go to Bansko, heard great things about it so was well up for it until I checked the piste map as I was a bit worried that there wouldn't be enough to do for a week. From what I can see on the map there are not really too many runs.

I really don't mean this in a bad way, it's just I'm quite an advanced skier and worry that a week skiing there could get boring (cos I like to mainly ski rather than mainly drink on my skiing holidays!), from the map it looks like you could do it all in a day. My mate reckons there is more than is on the map but I can't find anything on the net about it!

So my questions are, is the piste map of this site accurate or are there more runs there?
When you get a ski pass for Bansko does it cover other ski resorts in the area? If so how many/which ones etc.

As I said I'm not trying to diss Bansko or anything, I just want to find out whats there before I book it all up!

Piste map is accurate in as much as there are not hundreds of miles of unmarked piste's as your friend seems to think!!!

If you are advanced then yes you will ski the resort out very quickly I am afraid. You could always hook up with a guide and go off piste.

It is a smashing little resort and I am sure you would have a blast but if you want miles and miles of new piste's it is not for you.

I am looking at a Xmas ski holiday in Bankso this year. I have 1 week's snowboarding experience. Do you think this resort has enough runs suitable for boarders, especially one of my experience?

Hi Peas, to your question no not all the runs on the map are actually their, im sorry to say, and sorry the lift pass only covers that resort, but their is another just up the road, but only locals use it. Mmm for a good skier yeh you will get bored after midweek.
To Alby's question bansko is far by the best to learn on its actually the best set up resort for boarders, also check out snowboard mag when it comes out, i should get a mention so i no what im talking about. ill keep an eye out ...

You will run out of snow if you are an experienced skier who likes to spend his time skiing. If you are good at off piste you would be able to fill a week but only if the snow is right.
