Bansko's unofficial ski report.

Just back from 3 days skiing in Bansko. Had a great time. Quite a few of the runs were open and the snow was pretty good, although it was starting to get a bit icy down towards the upper cable car station. The weather was fantastic (actually got a bit of a tan).
Stayed at the Perun. Facilities good. Food poor. We ate at the Lion, across the road, were they cater for the more 'western palate'.
Thinking of flying into Plovdiv next time. Anyone know the transport time, by car, to Bansko?

took about five hours the last time i went from plovdiv to bansko. thought the bus driver was asleep at one stage as he was going sooooo slow.. All depends on the conditions.

I would stick to flying into Sofia if you can. Have you found cheaper flights to Plovdiv then, if that is why you are considering it?

Flew into Plovdiv last Christmas. Transfer was about 4 hours by minibus, but we had possibly the slowest and most careful driver (apart from Shelley's!) in the whole of Bulgaria. Which was a good thing.

Thanks. Just looking at options. Think I'll stick to Sofia.
