Hi all,
i'm out in Bansko next week to see and stay in my apartment for the first time. Can someone tell me if many places to eat will be open and possibly recommend a few places to try, going with my father in-law and his friend.
Is it getting busy or will it still be quiet? Was hoping to get a few days in the white stuff but sadly the snow gods are holding out!!
Quite a few people in town. Mainly Bulgarians they always seem to have bank hols. There has been quite a few English and Irish coming to check their apartments etc over last few weeks. The Lion reopened Monday. JJ Murpheys open, Irish pub open. Friendly I'm sure will open very soon. most of the Mehana's are open.

There is a great Mehana just past the church with fantastic prices. The Baracova(not sure of spelling). As you come down Pirin street pass the big church on the right its the 2nd turning on the right. As you walk down there you will see a sign on the left that you can just sort of make out the name and the dorr is in the bottom left corner. Fantastic food and great value for money well reccommended. Steve and I ate there last Sunday.... 2 chicken soups, 3 homemade bread, bowl of saute garlic potatoes, chicken livers on a griddled plate with chips all round, a 4meat sache on a griddle plate, 2 coffees, 1 large beer and a fanta orange for 40Lv. WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Im hoping the weather gets a little colder as im there the weekend after (10th). Every year i make a trip out and it snows...... but it's usually the weekend after.... C'mon the snow gods !!! There's always the pub i suppose.
