Bansko: Is March 10th - 19th TOO late for GOOD SNOW

Can anyone tell me if going to Bansko from the 10th until the 19th will be too late for good snow. How would you expect the snow to be that time of year?

This year is the first I've skiied in Boro in January - I've always been in March and loved it - never had problems with snow then - there was 3 metres of it at the top of the gondola mid march last year.

Only thing is, by mid afternoon, the snow at the bottom is starting to melt - but not too bad.

I boarded in Borovets last March 12-19th and I too thought the conditions were fantastic, I was boarding in a T-shirt, however the slopes were getting a little bare at the bottom weren't they, nice blue skies though.
This year we are going 28th Jan, I dont think I will be just wearing a T-shirt this time!

It was excellent last year at that time. People were skiing into April. Of course every year is different but Bansko is quite high so you should be OK. If the snow goes from the town it will mean that the ski road will probably not be open to ski all the way down but the skiing at the top should be great.

Bansko was still skiing into May last year. You should be fine with that date as Bansko is higher than Pamporovo and Borovets it has a longer season.

If you come expecting snow to be soft/slushy and it's better you won'y be disappointed

last year at that time it was very good for the time of year, the previous year was not so good but you would have gone home with a suntan!!!!!!!

Best time of year for good snow/ powder is end of jan to end of feb but each year is different and nothing is gaurenteed!!

We are after all relying on weather!!

im going over on the 18th march. cant wait. so i booked another ski trip yesterday to my dads in norway, 2 months is too long to wait, wish i was going to bansko now, the snow looks wicked
