Bansko - 1st timers

Off to Bansko in a couple of weeks - i've been reading the posts on here and also on the British Ski Clubs site and the reviews seem pretty favourable .

Have some questions that hopefully you folks can help with--
We are staying at the Kemplinski - anyone got any opinions on it?
Ski's - is it worth investing in a lock?
Money - exchange there or in UK?
Queues - we are going on the 19th march - hopefully should be quieter than normal( no ankle biters from UK about) Will it be busy ...

Do we need to get up early first day and any hints?

Did Borovets a few years ago and had a fantastic time - how does Bansko compare?

Can't wait.

re: Bansko - 1st timers

hi ray,
Keplinki is fab, right next to the gondola.
Keep your ski's with your instuctor's, you don't need a lock.
No queues usually and would be surprised if there were any at that time of the season.
Take sterling, use the hotel safe for all valuables and change your money at the bank in the town, 2.88 levs in Feb. Best rate going!
Be very early to get your ski's if hireing at the gondola,ie 8.30am, or be prepared to queue for hours! Alterativly have a lie in and go for your ski's ...
