Just been told that hotel booking has been changed from the Perun to the Strazhite - for a holiday on March 5th. Neilsen are claiming this is an upgrade - I know the brochure price is slightly more expensive but it doesn't seem to me that it is.
Also, our concern is how the strazhite can have 6 rooms available 10 days before departure.
Any ideas, suggestions on how to push back on accepting this?
I stayed at the Perun at the end of Jan and it is a nice hotel with just a short stroll to the gondola and town. I also had friends at the Strazhite and it is just good although I would not say better. The big bonus with the Strazhite is that it is closer to everything.
the Strazhite is a lovely hotel stayed there in Jan. I was most impressed. Only 10 min walk to the gondala and close to the edge of town for the bars etc.
I had a phone call from Thomas Cook this morning - it's not a problem with the hotel, they just overbooked I think. It's just annoying that they are moving us this close and not offering any alternatives
just bk from strazhite and it was great, i heard most pep think its one of the best there. i thought it was great for bulgaria, clean and everything you would expect from a 4 * hotel, im sure ull love it!
We stayed at Perun w/c 5.2.05 and we knew friends staying at Strazhite. We all agreed Perun is better situated -nearer to gondola(but both easy walking distance), more open fields, whereas Strazhite is in town centre, could be noisier. Facilities same except Perun has the most fantastic very hot outdoor swim pool which is wonderful for aching limbs (also has great indoor pool) Perun is almost brand new and when we return next year it will be our first choice! As far as we could tell, food is much the same in both (ok, bit strange combinations and luke warm which you don't get used to! don't recommend battered brussel sprouts). I think you'll be fine at Strazhite:it's not a poorer substitute apart form no outdoor pool and a tad older (but still v modern) . We had a superb good value holiday - enjoy
