No news on re-opening (but thats normal )
They have installed avalanche system to bring down loose snow, so as its installed in the area of Akidemika and Cherni Mogli, its seems logical that its something they are thinking about...
who knows maybe next year we haven't seen any work on the lift itself un;less it has really been done on the quiet... doubt it though last time we went to the lift it was still in need of major service.
Nightmuffy/Steve,
Looking at the link and films of avalanches, what is the off piste like in Bansko ? Where are the runs if any and do you need a guide ? It would be good to go off the beaten track for a change.
Steve
Right, the off-piste is awesome, can be tricky and steep, trees and rocks... Good entrance level run down into the Damienitsa valley from the Todorka face, good gulley runs to the side and through the Champagne Bowl, great tree skiing just at the sides of some blues, and lift runs, narrow and steep... and if you really want to get your jollys, climb up to the ridge on Todorka, and drop off, back or face, you will not be disappointed... and yes, you will need a guide if attempting these runs. ...
