Hi there,After a nice summer I'm wondering if there has been any work carried out in Bansko or the ski runs in preparation for this winter?
Is there any fresh rumors on the airport, the second Gondola or the expansion of the ski runs?

There will never be any airport in Bansko especially any that commercial flights would go to.
There are huge works going on in every street every road is dug up - all down to the fact the mains sewers were never upgraded to meet the output all the new properties would give. They caused a spill somewhere and pollution which the EU is going to fine them and it has to be fixed no question.
A new Gondela would take years to physically to build and no nothing has commenced nor have ...

new section of the motorway opens next month & there is also a 3 man lift being upgraded to faster lift that also holds 6 people - so should be at least twice as fast.re:Bansko 2016 Season Improvements
Which chair lift is being upgraded? - I cannot visualise it.Good news on that section of Road I'll be using it in Feb2016 - will be interesting to see how much it reduces the transfer time.
On our return in Aug2015 the final section to the airport was completed that made a bit difference (for that section) still have the annoying bit with the cobbled road

The very slow 3 man at shilli is now a fast 6 man , so giving another great option to get up the hill , near top of the bowl areare:Bansko 2016 Season Improvements

I thought it was a 4 seater?Is the speed higher or just higher capacity if the latter it might make a little difference but I'd say not much. In all the times I've been there I don't recall seeing any queues on that lift so possibly a needless upgrade.
Where will they reuse that old lift on the mountain?

The lift is @ shilli , but called the todorka lift , 3 man very slow .... the lower lift at shilliis called the shilli lift and is as u say a 4 man

New 6man chair will be open from Shilli for the winter. Transfers could be cut to 2hrs with traffic 2.15hrs. We have done them in 2hrs15mins last couple since road opened. Another company 2hrs30mins.No other info although have been told they have done more cannon work.
