Bansko 28th July 2 weeks

Hi were going to Bansko for 2 weeks in 28th july.

We have been quoted E60 for a taxi each way - is this a fair price?

Does anyone have alink to the activities which can be done? Ive heard that white water rafting is available but cannot find anything.

Our hotel doesnt have an outside pool does anyone know what the cost of using a hotels pool (outdoor) would be and which one has the best?

On Aug 4/5th there is a England v Wales Rugby international game does anyone know where this would be shown? It would certainly be on UK Sky.

Are there any nearby lakes so that we could spend the day at and have a picnic & wine?

What other must see things should we try to do whislt there.

Many thanks for your help.

re: Bansko 28th July 2 weeks

You can rent a car for E16 a day and this will give you freedom whilst there.

Where can you hire a car for as little as that?
Ive been quoted E40 a day which seems over 14 days is £386.... but for £155 for 14 days thats very good value.

Also as we (2 adults just under 30) wouldnt need it every day is there an option to have it for less time i.e. is there a hire comp in bansko?

Another question is are there any Mountain bike hire companys in Bansko - as we'd love to have a nice bike ride

Try the Intersport office in Bansko for the white water rafting. They can also arrange horse riding, quad biking, hiking etc.

Gog fama o gwynedd.

Ive been once before few 3 days. There was one bar not too far from the gondela whihc I think was a British pub - it has the hotel with the ten pin bowling across the road.

Fiona - thanks for the info, where is Intersports in Bansko?

Also I know of friends who have been to Bratislava and have done Hunting & used real guns at shooting ranges - does anything like this exist in Bansko (or is it recommended to stay well away from such people?).

Does anyone know if ...

Does anyone know if there is a Welsh bar or Irish Bar in Bansko?

Also last time we went it was in Aug and we only went to a couple of Mehanas (brillient food - I cannot get enought of it, thank god Im not a vegiterian lol). Where is the main strip of bars (if there is such a thing) & Ive heard that there are 2 night clubs one being next to the Gondela Apres Ski and the other is Amnesia??? Being an that Ive been to Ibiza many times I'd like to try it out.

Booze

I cannot wait to go its going to be a lot of fun.

Recently Ive been reading so many bad news stroys about the over development & having bought 2 places there myself & realise that it is impossible to sell new builds as there is no resale market place yet - so holding on for 5-10 years seems the only option.
Is this the reality of Bansko? I really hope not, Im not planning on trying to sell but am concerned as if my circumstances change and especially with UK interest rates going up & up I'll be left with assets I cannot sell.
