i think 3rd March is Liberation day and we will be travelling that day anyway, i imagine Sunday will be a bit busier than normal but i'm guessing most weekends are busy with locals anyway!
Just got back from Bansko -went over 1/2 term- very busy and long queues (up to 1 hr) to get on the gondola every morning. kept getting there earlier to miss the bottle-neck but so did everyone else! Snow ok higher up slopes but everything pretty slushy by midday as weather so warm. Long queues for lifts up to mid slopes too! Bansko is a massive building site but still has a lot of charm if you look for it. prices v cheap away from gondola. I can't see how slopes will cope with even more ...

Bansko is a massive building site but still has a lot of charm if you look for it. prices v cheap away from gondola. I can't see how slopes will cope with even more people once rest of building is finished and definitely will need another gondola. I hear no more pistes are planned so if that is the case Bansko will be a victim of its own success before it has even finished development! Still - we had a good time!
after that long report its worried me loads!i have been wanting to go skiing for 7 years since the last time i went!!! but now really worried, i have told my bf (who has never been)that its going to be great. got a bad feeling its going to be a diaster!!!!!!

Alternatively lie in and go up at 10.30 if you are going with Balkan you are likely to miss most of your sleep so just be prepared for that. julief - you seem very abrupt! can you give any more info on why your rep advised you not to go this week, is it just because it will be a bit busier? lots of people seem to manage half term week and have a good time....
the prob is that our hotel doesnt start breakfast till 8am!!which is a bugger, so wouldnt of thought that we wont get to the slopes till 9am or somethign!?? so u can take ur skis back to ur hotel!? does that save queuing in the morning to collect them!?? we are stayin in Perun hotel!
