Bansko Best in Europe

Hi, Having skied most of Europe and Canada over the years I'm now settled as to what to my mind makes an ideal family ski location, having skied in Bansko in February and visited in October I'm convinced the standards being set in Bansko will eventually lead to the resort establishing it self as one of Europes premier resorts. Yes for those looking to ski black runs eight hours a day then Bansko is limited however if you are looking for a great day on the slopes a great night out and first ...

Yes for those looking to ski black runs eight hours a day then Bansko is limited however if you are looking for a great day on the slopes a great night out and first class Hotels and apartments , The New Kempinski Hotel sets new standards for skiers, then Bansko for you. Only my opinion but give it a go you might just agree with me. Katie

I agree!

my previous skiing experience has been in the French Alps and Italy and I percieved that a ski holiday was something that would be be sure to break the bank, if you wanted a good selection of runs and modern facilities.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE!

Bansko has it all - and its great value for money!

Very experienced skiiers and snowboarders may exhaust the 65kms of pistes in a few days, however the majority of intermediates and beginers will have plenty to keep them busy ...

even after several visits!.

My wife and I are both experienced skiiers and have purchased apartments in Bansko for family holidays in the comming years when we want our children to have the opportunity to experience mountain sports in a beautiful setting.

What can I say? I have known this for years. As the local song goes "Pirin, you are the most beautiful in the world". Time to sing again, now that the snow is back.
Will keep you posted with my skiing adventures in Bulgaria, as usual. See you all there in February and probably a few more times.

yes what

Hi, Robo,
Boris above was too laconic. Here is the answer: Borovetz has great night life in terms of discos, bars etc. Bansko has very different night-life: mehanas, traditional eating and drinking. If you meant night SKIING, then I would not know as I have not done this in Borovetz, but there is was night skiing once a week in Bansko on the long run into the town. I myself prefer to relax in the evening and have not done this either, but doubt that it is any worse than in Borovetz. I have ...

I have admired the endless row or lights along the ski run when passing it in daylight. Bansko is the best, still. I guess it will be spoilt soon by too many people.

re: Bansko Best in Europe

An honest answer there George as i went to Borovets last year and being a fairly good skier i did not know what to expect but what made it real good was the night skiing which takes a lot of beating, so this year there are about a dozen of us going there again mainly for that reason.
All the best george Regards Robo....
