A group of us have booked to go to Bansko during the half-term holidays in Feb 08, I was there the week before half-term this year and I found no problem getting on the Gondala in the morning as I was always there for 8.30-08.45am.If anyone was there during the half-term this year did they have any problem getting on the Gondala in the mornings.

Hi, we were in Bansko at half term. We got there for 8.30 each am and had about a 15min queue. One morning got there at 9.15 and it took us an hour and 10 to get on the gondola so either get there early or leave it til 11.00.Have a good time!

If you hire your skis from inside the gondola station it opens at 8.30 the same time as the gondola. We found that by the time we had queued for skis etc (even getting there early) there was a long long queue for the gondola - at worst 1 1/2 hours.
Some of our group missed their 10.00 lesson because of the queue so ask your instructor where he/she is going the next day so you can catch up!
The trick is to take your boots and skis back to your ...

If yo have young children and cant do the early start dont bother getting to the gondola until later and arrange to catch up your groups

We were with balkan last year and they changed all the flights for the whole year, if they do the same this year be prepared if you are going to bansko to ski on your first day with no sleep!
Despite all this we had a lovely holiday there and would go back!

The first day is a hard one, we arrived at our hotel at about 1am, a few hours sleep and onto the slopes.Next year we are staying the Kempinski so we''ll take our ski's back to the hotel and make a run for the Gondala in the morning.
