Hey there - just back from my 3rd time in Bansko amnd lordy me was it busier!
The Gondola Q on NYE was a BEAST! I was hearing some Q-ing horror stories, - up to 3 hours... Either way it was certainly a hell of a lot busier than when I went last year twice... particularly the Mehanas and so on. We had to try about 20 places one night just to get a table for four!!! Last Easter we had to try 20 Mehenas to find a place with more than 4 people in it!!! Anyway - the question... how long did ...

Was it just New Years that made it particularly busy? Back out at Easter and hoping for a shorter Q!!!

I heard similar stories - but its usually limited to the peaks of NYE and the school holidays. I guess the answer is either go at sparrows fart or leave it to 11. As for the mehanas, sure you need to book ahead almost every weekend of the season. During the week its not so bad as many package tour people eat whatever slop is slung at them in their hotels.At Easter you'll be fine

We were there Christmas week, and had just one morning with about a 20 minute queue for the gondola (at about 10 am on the Friday before New year) and that was the worst it was - the rest of the time it was under 5 minutes... might be something to do with getting there before 9.30 am the rest of the week.
Not a problem for finding a table anywhere, including Christmas day.

Does anyone know of the recpie for seche?Also is the night clubs beside the Gondela & near the town square open in the 1st week of April.
Cannot wait to have my first ever skiing holiday - love the town just hope the roads there & back to the airport are now completed (Aug07 the road from Bansko to the highway had only a few parts to finish and they were working hard with many workers)
