New Year I think. I was there last March. No queues whatsoever. Went again on Xmas Eve. No queues until the 30th Dec. Then it went mental. 1hr to go up in morning, longer at end of day. Much pushing and shoving, people very scared. People were saying it was due to a massie influx of New Year holidayers from Russia (approx 5,000) Not sure what happened after Jan 1st. Came home on the 2nd.

One things for sure, with over 20,000 hotel beds in Bansko, not to mention locals and private appts. The 10,000 people per day lift facilities are gonna burst at peak times. Bansko is a great place, an undiscovered jewel so to speak, but if they don't improve the infrasructure to and from the mountain and indeed on the mountain itself, with the ever increasing popularity of this resort, things are gonna get very messy.
Have to say that I have only ever had 1 bad queue in 2 visits to Bansko, must have been a New Year thing. Now the ski road is open it will make life a lot easier at the end of the day - ski down
It is boardable, you just need to generate quite a bit of speed at times to avoid the flat, especially towards the end, trust me that bit is hard work, even with poles. Most boarders that I have seen use the run tend to walk the last bit to be honest. Not too far, and it certainly beats getting the gondela back down.
