Hotel Lion was very nice the rooms were a good size and very warm, food good, facilities:- sauna, steam room, massage, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, bar prices very reasonable .(flip flops recommended)
The only thing we found that the pool was not very warm most people said the same.

Getting your skis on the first day was a night mare there was no organisation in the queuing and people were pushing in not realizing that there was a queue took us 2 ½ hours We suggest that you get there for 7.30 am or have a swim and go for 12 noon

Skiing was excellent for beginners and intermediates but only one black run.- But great for us. All of us went to ski school and found the instructors very helpful like to thank them all
Adult ski school very good we recommend that if you feel your falling behind the group a private instructor for the cost is well worth it.
Children went to kindergarten
We felt that kindergarten was not suitable for our kids we felt it would be ok if they were under 4 Because we found they watched T.V most of the day with a little bit of skiing. We think they would do better if they had paints colouring books etc.
So our ski instructor found us a private ski instructor for the kids Which cost us about £35.00 per child per day (money well spent could not thank Toni enough).
We would like to thank all the people in Bansko and the friends we made for making our ski holiday a great one
Just to add a note re: first day ski hire/lifts!
Its not actually a nightmare if you get there early (like your rep advices!!). We got there for 8.15 on the first day and had no probs, hardly queued atall!! We made it up to the top station by 9, plenty of time for a drink before our lessons began
BUT if you get there for 8.30 (only 15 mins later), there will be HUGE queues!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its amazing what difference a few mins can make!
John what a valid point in that case you will be wanting to try the other extreme, Breakfast at 10 (or as late as you can ) Chill in the bar for a bit (or go for a swim) and get in the small or non existant queue for about noon, Holiday on
