Bansko Invasion!

Hey everyone

There are 19 of us all set to go to Bansko for a week this Saturday 5th March. Cannot wait! Staying in the Strazhite after a last minute change by Neilson (supposedly it's an "upgrade" from the Perun - not convinced!).

Is anyone else here going to be around in Bansko that week? And does anyone knows if it's possible to use the facilities in other Bansko hotels? I'm gutted that we don't have an outdoor heated pool in our hotel anymore!

re: Bansko Invasion!

I got bumped from the Perun to the Pirin in January.
They are consistently overbooking at this Hotel.
No wonder it is the best in the resort (so far).
That said the Strazhite is probably the second best, and it has the best location (midway between town & lifts (500M each way) - you will not be disappointed!

re: Bansko Invasion!

We have 5 beginner skiers (on the beginners ski pack) and 5 beginner boarders. There are another 4 experienced boarders and 4 experienced skiers. Of course that only makes 18 of us in total...

That's cos our 19th had a little boarding accident last week, leaving her with two casts on her arms. Moral of the story - wear wrist guards!!! Especially if you're boarding just before your holiday abroad! But not to worry, she's still coming for the apres ski banter. This is going to be an awesome ...

Second best eh? Well, could be worse I guess Smile

I know there's a shuttle bus at the hotel, but in practice, is a 500m walk to the lifts doable? Or is it not worth it, when you're wearing ski boots and carrying skis/poles?
