During the 2010-2011 season, two new lifts will be on duty within the ski area. This additional installations will increase the capacity of the lifts up to 24,000 people per hour. The 6-chair lift will replace the current four-seater at one of one of the busiest routes: Banderitsa - cart road. This lift handles beginners mostly. By adding two more seats on the bench its capacity increased by 50%, which means that if you've been waiting 10 minutes in a queue at peak times, you will now wait up to 5 minutes max. The other lift is a 4-chair on one of the coolest slopes: Plateau. You no longer have to search for other tracks because the older anchore or plate dragger made skiers and boarders wait on long queues. Faring up the mountain, comfortably seating in your chair you can relax quietly and enjoy the magnificent views. The speed is 3 times faster, which means more you do more runs per day by being less tiered at the end of the day. And you know how important is your energy level when you hit the Bansko night clubs.
Good news, assuming they're done nearer the start than the finish of the season of course - and in any case - developments like this are good news for Bansko.
I'm struggling to picture where the 6-Man is going to be... is it replacing 4 man that goes from opposite the top of the gondola to near the start of Blue 6?
Its the left hand side chair that runs up to red 7 from the gondola, and its in, i saw them hauling the cable up 2 days ago...
Helicopter is back on the mountain, the top chair is almost complete, but we are hoping its putting work into the much rumored lift from Damienitsa.... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
( i do sooooooooooo hope its a reality )
All rumours mate, but...... if you were to ski straight on down the off-piste from the Todorka bowl to the right of the board park, beneath Platoto, the lift should be there, and will bring you back up to Platoto... It has been said that this will not be complete this season (again, rumours) and the new piste through the bowl....
Dec 1st will tell us, as its been announced the resort will be trying to open on that date
