Bansko Next few wees

We went out to bansko on 20th jan the resort did resemble a building site but we had a fab time the ski conditions were not that brill for the first cople of days but afer that if was good. We found some great places to go out to on an evening. Went on the bar crawl (crystal) with Dimitar on the sunday night and had fun, a drink in every bar and a trip round various types of bars. Stayed in Perun which was great, breakfast good evening meal a little repetative but plenty of it. It is very cheap to eat out. The Spa facilities here were great and go for a massage if you get time. The drinks in the hotel bar are a lot more expensive that he Mehannas but it is relaxing.(the guy on reception was a bit of a dick and not very helpful but the rest of the staff were very ice) The Mehannas are very welcoming even if you do just go for a drink they cant do enough for you and I would definately go again

Pleased you enjoyed it Mel, must say was thinking of Bansko next year, but after hearing all the feedback, may wait a while until all the building work has finished. Also wait to see how the resort pans out culture wise. Heard it was a bit 18-30 clubish like at times! (or was that pamps, beer and reading posts late at night does that to me!) Very Happy

Not 18-30ish, been to pamps and you are probably thinking of there. (I did enjoy it there as well but it was 10 years ago). I think there is quite a lot of culture in and around Bansko. We went with Crystal and or Rep Dimitar was Bulgarian and very proud of it, even on the bar crawl he was giving us info/history on various buildings/churches around the town.

Mel, that ice fishing bit sounds cool! The kids love fishing, but to do that must have been so different!
May reconsider still Question

How long was the trip Mel, and how much did it cost. Did you all get Rods and bait etc?
did you have to miss a days skiing for it?

re: Bansko Next few wees

We left our hotel at 3pm it cost about £17 each but that did include the meal and the drinks. got back at about 8pm It was not propper rods it was more like your traditional bamboo sticks with string and bait but it worked and made it more fun (nothing as high tec as reels)
