Bansko V Pamps - Elinore

Hi,

Been posting to this now and then for the past 3/4 years. Off to Bulgaria again 3rd time now, but to Bansko instead of the before, pamporovo, Jan 5th till 12th, staying at the hotel Elinore. Has anyone stayed there before or know what its like?
Also which is the better, pamporovo or bansko? We've chosen bansko this year purely for the greater number of slopes and half pipe/fun park for the boarders.

Ok Rob, I went to Bansko in March for the 1st time this year after 5 times to Pamporovo. Now I love Pamps. But Bansko is better. More slopes, better slopes and it is a higher resort.

Also I liked the fact that Bankso is a village so more choice of traditional Bulgarian Mehanas in the evening. Nothing against Pamps as I love the place and will return one day, but for me Bansko is better.

I hope you are not disapointed by the fun park and pipe. It wasn't up to much last season.

Not sure if the park will still be there, as there was rumours of it be moved to another resort, maybe one of the locals could enlighten us

We were very dissapointed by the park and no half pipe to be found last end of Jan, so don't get too excited snowboarders, the park will be greatly improved for the Burton tour which is in Feb so it could be much better this year, the ski road back to gondala base is gentle bit of fun at the end of the day if a little flat so get your ski bunnies to give the snowboarders a tow at the top flat section.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm a skiier myself, so's sounding good to me! Can't wait. Any1 else going to be in Bansko 5th - 12th Jan?
