Bansko advice

Hi,

I’m going to Bansko at the end of this month and staying in the Hotel Lion - if anyone has stayed there recently would they give it the thumbs up or down? Can’t find it’s location on the map - how near is it to the amenities?

Also, booked 6 x 4hrs skiing lessons, how would you rate them and what sort of time do they start?

Cheers

re: Bansko advice

they usually start about 10am and then you have a couple of hours up to lunch, have lunch and then a couple in the afternoon but last year our instructor stayed with us all day often over the four hours and he was brilliant - made us do fun stuff coming down the slopes to build our confidence etc - by the end of the week he had managed to turn a non-skier into a sort of skier!!!

they were 5* as far as i was concerned! Very Happy Very Happy Booze

Brand new hotel, have not stayed there but had a look inside, very plush.

About 600m flat walk to slopes, but don't worry you do not have to walk around in your boots in Bansko, skis/boots can be store at the gondolas stations for about £17 for the week.

re: Bansko advice

I would say the same as Hel has above. I going back again in March and will do ski school again. I found them very good indeed - I did not realise that it was lessons in both morning and afternoon when I went last year but it worked out really good and being VERY rusty after not skiing for some years it was no time at all before I was back to a reasonable standard. Had a really good laugh with our instructor and in fact, I have kept in touch with her. She was excellent. The group stayed ...

Probably one of the better ski sschools I have been to over many years of skiing.

Have fun!
