Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Back from Bansko last night, fantastic place. Wonderful skiing, it snowed for 4 days, sun for one and mixed for the other but it was brilliant. Did level C ski school with Tony (ex racer) and he was absolutely fantastic - combined teaching with making sure you felt you were still on holiday. The locals were so friendly and we never felt we were being ripped off. Meals cheap, booze very cheap and just a brill time all round. Well except coming back when the immigration system computer went down at Plovdiv airport and we were squashed into the tiny check in space and all sat for a couple of hours until they finally decided we had missed our original flight and they might just do the checks by hand.... But all in all it was fantastic.

For any of you staying at Monastry Apartments, they are spacious and clean but none of the facilities are available yet ie cafe, gym and sauna plus no reps their or no communal area so when you went to reception window just a guy who smiled and said no english!!! Plus as they are so new beware that almost everyone we met had problems with leaking toilets and showers... There are no baths and even worse NO LIFTS so if you have heavy luggage beware as we had to go down one flight of stairs, cross whole building and then up another 3 flights with our cases - not funny when you are tired and have 4 children with you....
