Bansko at Christmas

My family and I (2 adults, 2children)are off to Bansko this Christmas and staying in Hotel Perun. Has anyone been there over the festive season? 1st time skiing, 1st time away for christmas, don't know what to expect? Is there any tobogganing in Bansko?

I was in Bansko for Boxing Day last year and the day after, it was lovely the sun was shining and once up the mountain no queues - I did not ski though Mad just sat around drinking hot chocolate and brandy Razz

I was there last Crimbo and will be returning this year. Perun is a good hotel and well situated. The skiing was very good last year on the higher runs and it was only the last part of the ski road that was a bit patchy.

You will have a fantastic time.

Sharon

How fab - 1st time skiing and you have chosen Bansko and Hotel Perun - very good decisions!

I have stayed in Perun twice and will be returning to Bansko for the 3rd time this season. It is lovely there and the Hotel is super.

Will drop you an email.

Kim.
Do the Bulgarians celebrate Christmas in a big way. What can i expect? Lights, Christmas trees or just another day?
Do the hotel (Perun) do anything special on Christmas day?

re: Bansko at Christmas

Bulgarians do celebrate Christmas - not quite on the scale we do!!! They do decorate for Christmas, however New Year tends to bigger for the Bulgarian people
