Bansko development...?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the skiing in Bansko is going to be expanded?

After visiting with my wife for the first time in Feb this year; it seemed with the amount of hotel construction work going on there, the pistes could get very crampt and over filled. We heard a romour whilst there that a new lifts would be put in and another mountain opened up. I'm a bit concerned as we have now purchased a property and fear that an amazing resort could be ruined!

No news for this year. Expansion is limited by the proximity of the nature reserves, but frankly I believe the pressure of the growing resort (and the associated business interests) will force the government to make changes in a few years. However, there are no approved (or as far as I am aware even unapproved) plans for opening new mountains, although a lot of estate agent speak. We hope, but we don't wait under water.

Someone has bought a property and they are worried the resort might expand, are they mad. Ive looked at taking a holiday or buying in Bansko but its way too small at the moment the only way I would buy is if the ski area did expand. I would get bored skiing in Bansko after 1 day, and 3hr transfers from the airport !!! Sorry but I won't be visiting any time soon.
