Hi there,
We are first timers to sking and Bulgaria two of us mentally young but physically wrong side of Forty ! We are travelling from London arriving in Bansko late on Dec 23rd for a week, staying at the Kempinski Grand. Any ideas, on what kind of nightlife or festive fun is to be had ?
what a fantastic hotel right at the bottom of the slopes you can ski to the door weather permitting and there out door pool looks the biz, sorry question wasnt about hotel but you couldnt have picked a better one, down side its a little bit of a walk into town, loads of bars and resturants in the town, we tend to stick to low key at night ache to much from the day.
Thanks for the reply . We are not looking for anything too wild, just want to make the most of Bansko, so all ideas are very welcome. The hotel does looks really great, we have never been away for Christmas before and fancied something a bit traditional, where would you advise ? Thanks again for the reply
Day trips to lapland, even for the "more senior" ask you rep, it means taking a flight but with the Pound so strong against the Lev its worth it, Avoid 24th Dec not much activity there as its near the end of the season and the 24ths delivery day.

Kempinski does realy good food as well.
We are half board, not really by choice as we prefer to try local food when on holiday. When I booked the trip, half board was about a hundred pounds cheaper than B &B through other travel companies ! This trip is really a birthday pressie for my other half who is fifty tomorrow. Thought we could do it in style, Bansko seems to have everything. We do not intend to eat in the hotel every night,as we want to try the local food. yes you should be excited, hope it will be the dream holiday for you, the hotels usually put on a gala dinner on christmas day, they are realy good usually entertainment on and a chance to meet others in the hotel, if you have never been on a winter sport holiday before you will possibly be supriced at how friendly people are, everyone seems to want to share there tips and also there mishaps and how well things are going. I take it you are having lessons they are a great way to meet people ...

I take it you are having lessons they are a great way to meet people and the ski instructors are very friendly, do go out and try the local food bansko realy does have some excellent resturants. down side of the hols is you will possibly find musels you never knew you had, one tip before you do anything else after a day on the slopes either get in the hot tub or a hot bath helps to relive aches and pains. have a good one
