Hello everyone,We are heading to bansko in March but two of the ladies in our group will not be skiing this time and are asking me what else there is to do. As every day ive spent in Bansko has been up a mountain and every night in the bar i'm at a bit of a loss to advise them!
any suggestions....?

Ice Skating; Casino; think 10 pin bowling; Skidoo rides (i should imagine) plus some of the hotels have Spa facilities that I'm sure could be used by non-guests for a fee... just to kick things off
- sure there is plenty else too....

The spa facilities are super, especially if you try the Kempinski, or maybe the Premier... You do get really pampered...Use of the gondola as foot passengers is available, sit in a restaurant and watch people make fools of themselves in beginners groups, even take the chair right to the top of the mountain... Have a bit of fun on a toboggan... walk up to the cave bar at the side of the ski road, sit there on a sunny afternoon and soak up the sun, and atmosphere.. should be good in March

My Dad is a non skier and he came out with me last year. He spent his time milling about the old town and the odd trip up the gondola to watch the skiers whizz by. But on one day he did a train trip on the narrow gauge railway that runs through Bansko. He is a train enthusiast, so it may not be for everyone, but he loved it. He spent all day going to Septemvri and back. It is not that far , but it is a steep and windy track and some great real 'old time Bulgaria' sights to be seen ...

Smag !!! your dad spent all day `going to September and back' ?????? heheheheheThe old narrow gauge runs from Dobriniste, up through Bansko, down to Razlog, Bania and on out through Yakaruda, Yolunda, and eventually Velingrad....
It is very scenic though, and a definite experience

thanks for the replys, its more shopping and that kind of thing they'll be looking for, do you think a day trip to sofia would be too much of a haul. Are there any larger towns near bansko with any sort of shopping centers? the spa pampering sound like a good one though ( might have a go myself.)thanks again.

Blagoevgrad is only 40 minutes, has a nice pedestrian centre with loads of clothes shops also nice restaurants and bars, and BG prices 
Sofia is good, but a long haul if going there and back in a day (i know !!)Im sure we could drop the girls down to Blagoevgrad right in the centre, and send them off in the right direction, and then pick them up later in the day
