Going to Bansko for 1st time at Feb half term (no choice) any advice as to how best avoid gondola queues in the mornings? Timing etc. Have teenagers so starting early wont be a problem as long as I can get them out of bed, or myself once the first day is over and the unfit body complains!
Glynis - we were in Pamps last Feb half term (no choice either) and the queues weren't that bad. People we spoke to said it wasn't that much busier than the previous week - vastly inflated prices put a lot of people off! Sometimes Feb half term week is different, depending on your local ed. authority. This year we have wk beg 17th and we've actually paid less for same hol as last year - so I suspect our half term isn't same as many others.

We managed to get first ski bus every day and were on slopes for 9.15 and skied until 4ish. Have a great time!
We were in Pamps last 1/2 term too and no problems there but are going to Bansko this year and I am reading about 2 hour queues to get up on the slopes just to start skiing is this true and is there a way round it?
If you ae going our sli instructor (Maria ) was fantastic and very safe. She said it was busier but was v good at going where no one else was. We all had a fantastic time.
If any oe is going there this year say Hi to her from us please!
try to get to the gondla as early as possible. this is a bit of a problem if you have pre booked passes ect as you have to meet your rep and pick up passes and then they tend to treck everyone down at once and as most tour ops arrive on the same day this couses problems. if you have your own stuff I would buy lift pass locally its more expensive by about 10 to 15 pounds but you can be at the gondla for around 8.30 get you pass and go. dont know if this is of any help.
Hello Glyns. I went to Bansko ;ast march and brought a day ski pass. I dont know if it was just a bad day but I would never queue up for that long ever again. It took nearly 2 hours just to but a lift pass and was very unorginised. Im not too sure how it works if you pre book through a tour opperator but that is what I have done for this years trip. I guess they pick them up early.
The other option is to get down very early to buy them. Admitidly it was about 10 before I started waiting ...
