Just to say we had a fantastic 11 days skiing in Bansko in April, right up to the last day the resort was open. We had been out there over the New Year and this was heaps better. No queues at all, unlike the Alps.
If you moved around the mountain as the day went on you could get good snow for most of the day.By the end of our 11 days the bottom of the lifts was a bit muddy, but that what it's like in April.

The people at the ski shop were lovely this time, although, you were right, no discount for the lift pass. They didn't know anything about it! Not their fault.
We were not ripped off once at any of the restaurants or bars.
We thought the dogs were not a problem- didn't seem to be doing any harm. In fact my kids loved the puppies outside the apartment where we were staying. Unfortunately they did have a cull while we were there right outside the gondola station one morning, which was a bit upsetting. I suppose if enough people complain about the stray dogs, they have to act on those complaints.
All in all we had a great time, although I think we were incredibly lucky with the weather and snow.
Personally I would like to see them reopening some of the slopes- the ones to the right that are currently described as out of order. And they need more nursery slopes, because at Xmas that was a joke.I don't know if the second gondola is ever going to happen, but if it does, you are still going to need more slopes when you get to the top of it.
Bulgaria has a long skiing day. If they introduced discounted rates at peak times for people skiing after 10.00/10.30am say,as well as after12.00, they might ease the congestion on the gondola. They are always going to have a problem with people going up for classes starting at the same time.
We will definitely be going back- we have bought a place! I'm looking forward to seeing the place developing, as I'm sure it will in time.
