Bansko just returned

Awesome skiing, lovelly place.
I will be back next year but i will have to take my daughter out of school, because i would not go half term again. It was Chaos.
At least half hour queing every morning to collect skis and then and hour minimum for gondola. Bansko could not cope with all the people arriving for the week.

It was chaos on the first day of the school hols at the gondola station. I know that the package deals are cheap but you can save alot of time if you rent your gear from somewhere away from the gondola. What time did you start queueing for the gondola ?

re: Bansko just returned

Was in Bansko last week. We hired our equipment from the Intersport shop about 100 yards from the Gondola. We sorted that out on Saturday night-think they are open until 9:00. "Only" took about 30 mins to get our lift pass on Sunday and generally if we got to the gondola about 5 or 10 mins before 10 it took about 15 mins to get on. The cost of hiring the equipment- skis, boots and poles was 50 euros

We tried everything earlier and earlier each day. till we were getting to the ski rental place for 8.30am when it opened but everybody else was doing the same.
I booked my rental through this web site unfortunatly they use the main rental shop with the big companies.
Still it was a great holiday and ill take it as lessons for next year, or next month if i find a good deal and can get time off work.
