Hi guys,
My boyfriend and I are off to Bansko on saturday for our first trip to Bulgaria, can any of you recommend any particular restaurants, bars etc or have any tips for us??
Thank you Hannah
There are so many Mehana's - please try the old ones plenty just off the main strip.
One we like is if you are at the 24 Hour British bar and walk towards the square maybe 50-100m on the left there is a really nice traditional place (you will struggle to spend £15-20 for 2)
Another one is if you carry on down the same road you will get to an area with a Communist struggle structure on your right hand side is a road go down that and you will find a Mehana which is superb

The ones on the main square are good (just a bit more £ due to location) - we like the one with the water feature actually we like the one next to it too.
What I mean is frankly I don't know a bad place and we've tried many different places.
Make sure you try all the unusual local food - some you may find from the name off putting (I did) but tried it and really enjoyed it. Also don't be put off by the way they serve the food - you may get starter & main all at once or as your eating one course. Or you may have your entire meal yet your other half has not had any yet.... the idea being put it in the middle of the table and share, remembering it is a whole evening of eating.
Harry's Bar for après ski music, good food (burgers pizza etc) and great atmosphere. Chateau Antiqiue for great top notch food at a reasonable price. Victoria's for good pizza and pasta. Weekly curry night at The Avalon on Thursday (book in advance). For a mehana, Barakova is hard to beat.
