We returned from Bansko on 3.3.07: had good week's ski-ing but by our last day things weren't looking promising, snow getting very slushy in mild temperature, stones showing through in places. The town looks frightful without a concealing blanket of snow and huge numbers of part built appartment blocks -but hey, we don't go there for the town do we?We found the gondola queuing not too bad -some attempt at crowd control even! and next to gondola station are two huge pavilion tents used by some of tour operators for equipment hire and this was big improvement on last 2 years so well done, those concerned, for some better planning which is paying off. Felt trepidation in advance of going after reading many awful reports but found this unnecessary -wish someone could do something about the weather for all those still to go as I consider that will be your biggest problem now.
